About Me

Aberdabbadoo runs small-group guided walks around Aberystwyth. You follow an easy route around the town while Alison shares stories about the buildings, the people who lived here and how the town has changed.

You can join a scheduled walk on set dates, or arrange a private walk for your own group by request. Alison is a creative practitioner who has over 40 years experience of designing and delivering educational packages with a specialism in public engagement, opening artefacts to a wide audience. It’s nothing like school history lessons!

Her first walk, ‘A night on the tiles’, came about from her research on mosaics and uncovered a commission that went wrong. Artists are always fascinated with the background to artworks.

Since 2020 she has developed her immersive walking tours under seven different themes celebrating Aberystwyth’s heritage.  There is a walk for everyone.

Expect a warm welcome, discussion; quirky stories gleaned from a deep dives into archives; Alison tells stories with a narrative that includes sounds, smells and visuals. Each walk has a complementary drink and a chance to socialize.

Alison holds awards for sustainability and her sensitivity to the environment. All costumes and props are sourced from the circular economy or handmade.  She teams up with local businesses and artisans to deliver a warm Welsh cwtch (hug).

Alison has recently gained Gold status as a Ceredigion Tourism Ambassador. Her passion is sharing the jewels of our local environment.
